Ans: The revolutionary changed that took
place in 18th century, in the usage of industrial infrastructure in
industrial sector are called Industrial Revolution. In 18th century,
production of goods and transport sectors rapids advancements were seen. This
rapid advancement is called Industrial Revolution.
Before
industrial revolution production was done involving more men, with very less
equipment. After industrial revolution machines produced goods in large scale.
Machine work was many times faster than manual work.
France
gave birth to Political Revolutions; Whereas England gave birth to Industrial
Revolution.
Results of Industrial Revolution:

1. Economic Results: Production increased with the use of
machines. Labour was diverted to other works in the process of production.
2.
National Income – Due to the surplus production, Industrialized countries’
National Income increased. England’s National income increased and it rose to
the position of world power.
3. As many
goods were available at low cost, people’s life standard was increased.
4. Cottage
industries were replaced with big machinery industries. Seeking employment,
many people migrated to industrialised areas. Those industrialised areas grew
as big cities.
5. With
the use of fine quality seeds, agriculture production improved. Farmers became
rich by producing commercial crops.
6. With
the development of trade and commerce, banking sector also expanded.
7. To sell
the surplus production, industrialised countries started searching for new
markets. . This necessity resulted in
competition for new colonies.
2. Social Results
A. Two
sections emerged with clear disparities in the society. 1. Capitalists 2. Labourers
Capitalists
led luxurious life: whereas labourers lived in extreme poverty.
B. People started producing commercial
crops to meet the needs of industries. Traditional cottage industry production
was slow and cottage industry goods’ price was high. Industries produced goods
in large scale in a very short span, and their price also very cheap compared
to cottage industry goods. Due to this reason people showed interest in buying
machine made goods. Cottage industry people lost employment and they migrated
to towns seeing employment in factories. This resulted in over population in
town. Newly migrated people and industrial workers settlements created slums.
As the
jobs are less and job seekers were more, factory owners paid very less wages
and forced them to work for longer hours. Women and children were also employed
in industries. As factories’ owners did not care about their health, many
workers fell ill. .
3. Political Results
1.
Developed European nations needed raw material suppliers and markets for their
goods. For this purpose they established their colonies in Asia and Africa.
European nations competed with each other for these colonies.
2. Leaders
like Saint Simon, Robert Oven and Louise Blanc led socialist movements in
Europe.
3. Karl
Marks and other leaders started communist movements.
