Ans: Denmark, Norway and Sweden are
called Scandinavian nations. By 1500 A.D., Norway had hereditary monarchy.
Sweden and Denmark had elected monarchies. These three kingdoms were united in
under Denmark in 1397 A.D. Sweden was against this union and it kept fighting
with the kings of Denmark for 50 years from 1397 A.D. and finally established a monarchial
government under the leadership of Gustav Vasa in 1523 A.D. Norway continued
with Denmark.
In
19th century, Kings of Denmark and Sweden decreased the right of
legislative bodies to establish dictatorial governments.
