1. Charitable NGOs: Focus on relief work and welfare.

  • Example: Smile Foundation (education for underprivileged children).

3. Advocacy NGOs: Influence policy and laws.

  • Example: Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) (environmental advocacy).

4. Participatory/Grassroots NGOs: Community-based, people’s participation.

  • Example: Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA).

5. International NGOs (INGOs): Operate globally with branches in different countries.
